Reed Depth Adjuster
The adjustment nut and stud are designed to fit most Stanleys and can probably fit in most other brands, though we have not been able to test all of them. It will not work with type 5 and earlier Stanley.
If the lateral adjuster is a two-piece design, this will work with yours. Types 1-4 have no lateral adjuster, and type 5 has a one-piece adjuster. All other Stanleys will work.
It is larger than the standard Stanley adjuster, and the knurling provides a far better grip. The stud also has threads that are twice as fine as the old adjuster so you can have finer depth adjustment control. Reed Planes was developed from my frustrations of using Stanley planes and old tired Norris planes. My goal was to create a hand plane that would solve the shortcomings of these planes as well as a way for them to be adjustable due to wear over time. I have adapted many of my improvements for replacement parts that can easily modify a Stanley hand plane.
