Longer Chip Breaker Screw

$17.99
Only 9 available

This is a chip breaker screw Made by REED planes. This was produced for REED Planes upcoming new planes, but a lot of people have had an issue with the screw not being long enough for thicker modern plane irons. So if your current chip breaker screw is not engaging enough with the chip breaker, this may be your answer.

The screw is knurled and has 5/16 -18 threads. The original Stanley was 5/16-18 BSW. This is a slight change but does not affect performance. This is very standard in the bench plane world, but you may come across an oddball company that likes the buck convention. If that is the case, we will return the screw for a full refund.

You can find more info in this video:

These parts are made by REED Planes and distributed by Wood By Wright. Feel free to contact either of us at any time with your questions. James Wright: JamesWright@woodbywright.com Jeffrey Warshafsky: reedplanes@gmail.comA bit about REED Planes:

Reed Planes was developed from my frustrations of using Stanley planes and old tired Norris planes. My goal was to create a hand plane that would solve the shortcomings of these planes as well as a way for them to be adjustable due to wear over time. I have adapted many of my improvements for replacement parts that can easily modify a Stanley hand plane.
