Q&A:

Miles K: I recently cut down two ash trees on my property, and I saved a good chunk of each trunk. They've been sitting in my yard for a few months now, and I'm wondering what the best way is going to be for drying and storing these. Is the best way to slab this thing up and stack up the slabs with spacers? Or should I just leave it as a log? I'd guess drying it in log form would take much longer, but I'm just not sure what's best. I definitely want to slab up one of them eventually regardless, and the other may end up as two benches (cut in half lengthwise)

MoonshineMetalworks: I've been forging axe heads recently and want to make handles using a combination of draw knife and spoke shave to get the shape but as a I'm not experienced with them wondered if you had any tips?

Joke of the week

Jeff Gruff : Did you here about the guy at the sawmill who had the whole left side of his body cut off? Don't worry, he's all "right" now.
